Addiction (of a child)

For parents of a child who is addicted:
Dear Lord God, We cling to your Word that says "Nothing is impossible with God."We cry out to you on behalf of _, asking you to rescue _ from this addiction. You alone are the Savior. We pray for your grace to be poured out on this life. We pray that you will intervene in the physical -- take away the cravings. We ask you to intervene mentally - give clear, rational thinking. Please intervene in the spiritual — banish the demons far away, silence their lies, and protect _ by your Holy Spirit.
Lord, we know that your hand is not too short that it cannot save. We ask you to rescue _ in a wonderful and powerful way. Show _ that the thirsts and the cravings can only be filled by You. We cry out to you and ask that the reality, the truth of what our Mighty Savior has done will give courage, wisdom and strength to these parents. Fill them with your peace and your wisdom. Thank you that our guilt and regrets have been wiped away and forgiven by your death on the cross. Thank you that when we are overwhelmed, we can hide in the Rock and simply trust in you — and know that all will be well. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Open up _ eyes to see the reality of this addiction. Show _ how much _ needs You. Open up _ ears to hear your voice calling _ to faith and repentance. Silence the lies of the demons. Open up _ heart to receive You and all the blessings that You want to pour out. Show _ that the thirsts and the cravings can only be filled by you. Please pour out Your Holy Spirit upon _ to accomplish a mighty work, setting _ free from the bondage of addiction and giving a new, abundant life. We pray for these parents. Help them to keep their eyes fixed upon Jesus. Give them the desire, faith, courage and strength to follow wherever You lead. Surround them with your peace and your presence.
