Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. (Psalm 25:4-5)
Lord, I admit to You that sometimes I just don't understand what to do or where to go. Sometimes it seems like You are silent...and far away. But Your Word tells me that You are not silent. Creation reminds me of Your glory and Your power. History reminds me of Your faithfulness. The Cross of Jesus reminds me that You have suffered much more than I ever have or ever will. You can sympathize deeply with me right now. You are the Good Shepherd who cares individually and carefully for each of your sheep. Thank you for caring for me this far. Thank you that Your plans for me are for good and not for evil, plans to give me hope and a future. Help me to fix my eyes on Jesus. Help me to run into Your loving, safe arms and find rest even as troubles surround me. Lead me in the direction that You want me to go. I ask that you would give me clear guidance about the future, that you would provide for all of my needs according to your riches in Christ Jesus and give me the desire, strength, courage and protection to follow wherever You lead. In the name of Jesus, the Good Shepherd I pray, Amen.
