For nothing is impossible with God. (Luke 1:37)

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 16:33-34)

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

For Self:

Dear Lord God, I am totally dependent upon you. You know my needs. I don't have to convince You. You already know. You already care. I want to be convinced that You will meet my needs - in Your way and in Your time. I surrender all that I have - and all that I don’t have - to you and trust that you will provide. Forgive me for thinking that I need to pry riches out of Your reluctant hands. I am your child and you promise to give me good gifts. You never forget or go back on your promises. You said, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." Open my eyes to see You more clearly. Give me the desire, courage, strength and faith to follow wherever You lead. Remind me often that I am safe with You. I surrender to your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, we confess that we have failed to seek the things that are above. We have too often set our minds and affections on things on this earth. We have not stored up treasures on heaven, but have spent our energies trying to store up treasures on earth. We have put our trust in earthly security. The Bible calls this idolatry and we are guilty of it Through the power of your grace, forgive us. We pray that you will whet our appetites for eternal things, give us a passion for Your kingdom, and help us find our deepest satisfaction in You alone. Help us to trust You to meet all of our needs. Amen.
